    Hi:

My PC is getting obsolete and I'm looking at bits and bobs for a possible new one, right now its a toss-up between buy a semi-custom from Komplett or try a self-build. I'm planning to add and carry over heaps of stuff to my new dream machine so I've been looking at mainboards on komplett, mainly judging each on their expandability, PCI slots and so on.

Anyways, I found one that looks very impressive, the Sapphire Radeon Xpress 200P, cheap, looks like it has sound, LAN PCI Express and 5 standard PCI slots.

Does anyone know this board? Is it any good? Too good to be true?

    Edit: Link.

The motherboard itself for the most part is fine performance wise if a little sparse on extras.

It has only one design flaw poor USB2 performance which is an issue with all of ATI's South-bridges you should buy a PCI USB 2 card if you intend to make use of external USB hard drives or DVD writers.

An alternate suggestion is this Gigabyte mATX nForce 4 for €71 though it lacks the HD Audio (standard audio is present) and extra PCI slots present on the Sapphire motherboard.

    Thanks for the tips :)

but the only USBv2 things I'm going to use are an internal 7-in-1 drive and a pen drive. I also require Maxtor HD compatibility and lots of room for adding more stuff later.

So I'm probably going to go for this.

whats it like for usb2 performance with keyboards and mice and gaming controller, would you notice a difference
does it have a bios updater throught windows or do you have to use floppy through dos to update bios

For low speed USB devices like mice/keyboards and game controllers you wouldnt really notice a difference it only impacts stuff which would make full use of the USB2 connection.
