right fellas tell me what ye think:eek:

just got my hands on the first manta a series ever to be brought in to ireland
1.6 manta s only two owners from new.bought new from john devoys in carlow on the 7/6/72.
got a right load of spare parts as well ,all for 500 euro :)
it needs a bit of work ( a lot of welding) but i think it would be worth it for the history aswell. what do ye think?

Nice one manta mad, there can't be too many of them around. I remember when they were around and always liked them. Good luck with the restoration. There's loads of them in Germany, a friend of mine brought me back some magazines for there some time ago on classic cars and there was loads of stuff like this and cheap too. Did you see the 72 Opel Commodore on ebay.ie? Its in Longford and looks to be in pretty good nick.

From the looks of it that's a helluva undertaking - best of luck with it. I agree - it's worth it for the history alone. Not to sow the seeds of doubt or anything, but how can you be sure it was the first in Ireland?

Fair play to you taking this on.

Yes, well done for taking on the restoration manta mad!

It's always great to see an original Irish-reg car being brought back to life.

Looks like somebody started to do some work on her already (i/h wheelarch repair) ?
