Blinds are 200/400 in a PP MTT. Ive around 2200 which is pretty short for the table average, only really got involved in 3 or 4 hands as havent had much to play with. I went all in the biggish hands I did have, QQ and JJ, everyone else folded so noones seen my cards yet.

    This hand..
Ive got AJ in BB, folds around to SB who has 8000 whos won a couple of large pots with AK twice but has also lost 2000 in one hand with an all in with JQ, he min raises, I think about it for a sec, I havent played a hand in the last 10 or so so go all in, think Im not gonna get much better the way its going, he insta calls and turns over AK and holds up.
Im thinking after it might have been just a call by me but is this not just a standard all in at this stage with me trying to double up and with my chips low?

As much as i hate pushing with AJ, i think you had no choice here. Last few big tourneys that i have played and gone deep, i have gone out when short stacked with AJ.

Analyzing it after, I couldnt get away from the push so Im happy enough with that despite the beat, so now Im wondering is it still a push if I have more chips, say 5000+ in the same circumstances?
Does anyone have a rule of thumb that says when chips get below X that will cover Y blinds, a standard call or small raise turns into a push.
