This time its personal .... and 1/2 on PPP.

Villain is on another of my tables at the same time. He is a shorty type dude. On the other table - he limped with K8o (with 70 behind), I raised with QQ, he called. Flop 852 twotone, he checks, I pot, he goes all-in, I call. This is important.

villain has 112 in the BB.
    Hero has 380 utg

    Preflop
Hero opens to 7 with KQo, some muppet calls on the button, villain calls in the BB.

    Flop (21)
    9s 8s 5d
villain leads for 6 .... at these levels, this is usually a big big hand or a draw. Since he c/red me before with a big hand, I have to expect that this is a draw most often. ... I make it 14 more to play to isolate villain and play him heads up. button folds, villain calls

His call here makes it really look like a draw, but he could have a monster, and he might call me with a draw, that also happens to be the best hand.

    Turn (61)
    4h
check, villain has 87 left now, and he might call me with a draw (that is the best hand), so I want to bet and leave him with something left, so I can bet the river if it blanks, and he might have a monster, and will raise me here. No need to push the boat out too much.

    I bet 35, villain calls

    River (131)
    8c
villain checks, and I set him in for 52

His first bet of 6 (and then calling your raise) into a pot of 21 does really smell of a blocking bet. If he had any of the flop like two pair/set he would probably reraise with the flush draw out there. He might even raise with the made str8 because of the flush draw.

I really like the play on the turn, leaving him enough to fold the river (something I always err on in my game, pot committing someone when I dont want to).

The worry is 9x which he would prob call with, given his earlier play and if he has an 8 then so be it.

I think your KQ is good here a lot of the time. Looks like a flush draw maybe with a gutshot J6s or something like that. I like checking here. You might push him off a hand like 56 but i could still see him calling with it with your history and all he is probably gunning for you. The only hand you would get rid of imo(that beats you), which he would call down to the river with, might be a missed nut flush draw, although he may have been happy to reraise all in with that on the flop.

I think, since you posted, he probably called with 5 6 and youre left wondering why you tried bluffing a guy you know to be a bit of calling station.

So the only better hand you are push off the pot is Ace hi flush draw..could he have a small PP???
I have never played a hand this way ..... So thanks
I play it the same pre flop and on the flop..but usually check behind on turn!

I think the stacks are too small for what you are attempting, a lot of the time the villain will either pick up a pair along the way, or decide to call with ace high. Also he might hit his draw (or of flopped the nuts) The pots tiny on the flop and you dont have anything - let him have it this time.
