Where does stuff go, if not the Recycle Bin?

Hi,
Just wondering: where does deleted stuff goto, if not the Recycle Bin, when a mod delete's it? I ask as a few threads that I thought I'd "look for" are totally gone. This has happened in the past, and its starting to wreck my head trying to look for it.

Latest disappeared thread: t'was in "Computers / Technology", about a book that helps you to learn, and some people suggested another book from amazon... thought I'd come back to see if it got any more answer's, but it's just gone.

A similair thing happened in the work forum when a few people asked someone questions about joining the army


So... is there another forum aside from the Recycle Bin that stuff gets put into, or is it gone forever? Oh, and any idea why?

No, it either gets soft deleted so the mod(s) of the forum can only see it, inc. SMods and admins, or fully deleted, as in gone forever.

Threads can also become unapproved (become moderated) so again only the mod(s), Smods, Admins can see it.

Most likely soft deleted. Full deletions are very rare, even for spam and the like.

But quite common with pornospam, so that mods afterwards don't see it by mistake (if they wanted to see someone being sodomised by a bull they can google it themselves.)

On rare occasions certain threads have been moved to private forums so that people can point and laugh

Most are are sold on ebay.
The ones that don't sell go to landfill in China.
