... limit holdem  It just makes sense.

Well cash games anyway... Had a couple of cents left in my PPP account, couldnt afford to get into a NL cash game, so i went into a limit one. Suddenly Sklansky makes sense! I'm getting more used to odds. I can be more aggressive without getting myself into the usual trouble. It's just limiting my stupidity.

Just thought i'd share. Is limit a better way to start off playing cash games, or is it harder to go from limit to no-limit?

It's a very different game. It is difficult to go from limit to NL but Limit will teach you how to play better technical poker. You'll have to get to a high enough level though otherwise you're still going to be up against idiots.2/4 is probably where it starts to become something like poker.

2/4 limit on ppp is nothing like poker, 4 out of 6 to every flop, its bingo until 5-10 i think...

Maybe 6 max is like that but the full ring games certainly are not. Look at the percantage of players seeing the flop in the $1/$2 games on site like interpoker. the average is about 27%:eek:this is even less than the $5/$10 games. Even on the looser sites like pacific and party these games are still far from bingo or anything like that(at least they were a while back).

As for limit and NL they are just two completely different games. Limit is very technical and is about forcing opponents to make mistakes and squeezing every bit of value you can out of the game while NL is more about feel and trapping your opponent.

That whole "remove all advertising from your sig" didn't last too long, bananna man?

    Following on from Gordon's post
, Bananna Man banned for a while. You can usually advertise stuff in your sig on the poker forum but you went too far.

My god, he had actually removed everything previously and had the cheek to come back with even more spam in the Sig!!!

I have one observation and comment to make on this incident, I can remember many days when the main forum was filled on average with about 7 threads from the one and only B man, the threads had little or no content and it almost appeared like the threads were being posted to increase exposure....

    Anyone else notice this?

Well it won't be happening any more. Back on topic plz.

Dont get me wrong I like limit (and im a lot better at it than Nl) but it can be incredibly boring, not to mention frustrating at times. Nowadays I actually surf the net with a game in the background a lot. I dont like doing this so Im gonna start playing more Nl. Unlike most people I started playing limit so it feels more natural to me than Nl.
