    Hey all,

I had to restore my ipod because it kept freezing.

I restored it, rebooted and then on the pc it said "Please connect your ipod to a power adapter to complete the firmware upgrage"

Now when I turn on the ipod I get an icon with a plug and a socket.

Does this mean I have to go and buy a charger for the ipod?? I always charge it via usb

    Yes. Typically.
You could try removing all other USB devices / anything that drains power from your laptop..but you'll most likely have to borrow an adapter.

    Alternatively...

    1) Run update iPod Software Updater thing. Firmware. Call it what you will.
    2) Unplug iPod from computer.
    3) Wait for little "plug iPod into wall" icon to show up.
    4) Plug iPod back into computer but only partially. Just enough to get the charging pins connected.
    5) Profit.

    hmmmm.
