fill a large cup or pint glass if you have it , lean over a sink(it can get messy)and drink the water from the far side of the glass as slow as you can

Take a glass of water and bend forward to drink it. You'll have to drink with your lips on the farthest side of the glass from you. Don't know if that's clear but I'm doing my best.
Try that, I swear it really works.

I heard the Mods were talking of banning you cormie*

*Perhaps the fright of that has cured your hi-cups

    Are you feeling okay netwhizkid?

Clearly the reason for the hiccups lies in the Bertie Ahernled FF/PD government.

Only by electing your peculiar brand of comic book Communism can we hope to rid Ireland of this accursed disease.

Take a large shot of vodka. I can assure you that will get rid of them.

if you have an asthma inhaler handy, one of the blue ones, take a shot of that and hold it in aslong as you can, while your holding your breath walk back and forth and rub your stomach with your hand, when you can't hold your breath any more sit down and breath in as deep as you can and put your head between your knees.....sounds strange and complicated I know, but this really really works honest.

    Guaranteed way to cure hiccups:

    1. Hold your nose

    2. Start drinking water really slowly

    3. Continue for about 30 - 45 seconds until you feel like your drowning

    4. Your body thinks its drowning and turns off the muscle twitch which is the hiccup

Bang your head off the wall three times, spin in a circle, jump up and down for 10 minutes and bring to boil...no thats just made up.

    Hold your breath.

I was about to suggest that, then I saw your post.
Didn't know though why it works. I think this method was once recommended in an episode of Columbo. Worked every time for me.

Good luck with loosing the hi-cups, cormie!

Yup that's a definite cure just as long as you hold your breath until can feel yourself trying to hiccup again ;)

seriously guys, a tea spoon of normal vinegar stops the hiccups in literally 1 second, just have a glass of water handy to get rid of the taste

read it in a womans magazine years ago and have been doing it for years and it aint let me down yet

    Spelling: hiccups
Remedy Suggestion: Guys, typing "Boo" here although funny, isn't gonna work because it's not sudden enough. Cormie - since you are on the internet, download a rapidly spreading virus to your computer. When it starts infiltrating your system and emails, it will frighten the sh!te out of you, thus dispelling your hiccups.
