Batten to wall - what spacing for screws/plugs?

    Hi all,

I am building some alcove bookshelves. For say a 900mm batten attached to a solid masonry wall, at what spacing should I put the (heavy load) rawl plugs and screws? One plug and screw every say 300mm, or closer together? Or would just two plugs and screws do for a 900mm piece of batten?

    Thanks in advance!

For a 900mm batten taking a heavy load I'd go for 4 fixings per batten.
It won't break the bank & tis better to be safe than sorry.
