The problems go on and on!!!

Have read many threads on the forum before (kinda helpful!)

In the house have a HKC monitored alarm, it simply texts my mobile when it is set off. As far as i can see it is connected to the phone line by two small wires (alarm wire) which directly connect to an old master socket.

Do I need to filter these wires? i.e. is it a case of making new extension(dont have a new master socket - old one is over 30 years old! is it free from eircom to get a new one? incl. call out?) and then putting these two wires into a RJ11 connector? (if so does the modem have to be on the first extension?

or is there any other way ? or do they need to be filtered at all?

    Thanks.

(posted before in the wrong forum I think)
