I'd highly recommend Glastonbury, toast is right though - not this year. Also don't knock the German rockers, beneath their excessive denim and leather clad exterior, loud motorbikes and big hair - they're actually rather friendly, tidy up after themselves and go back to their desk jobs on Monday morning.

What kind of music do you like? What kind of European country do you want to go to? What's your budget?

You could go to a festival by the beach (Benicassim in Spain), somewhere with a big reputation (Roskilde in Denmark), a city type scene (Sonar in Barcelona) or somewhere interesting in eastern europe (like Sziget or Exit).

Personally the next time I go to a festival in Europe I want to go to Benicassim ( http://www.fiberfib.com/ ). The lineup always seems to be pretty good and being by the beach it just seems like something different to other festivals I've been to, not to mention a decent chance of some sunshine.
