Is there any way you can fool your browser in to thinking you are in a different country? I want to listen to something on BBC Radio 5 Live but you can only listen if you are in england. Any workarounds for this?

Its not your browser that tells them what country you're in, its your IP address. You could use a proxy server based in the UK to get around this. I find that UK-only stuff works for me cos my ISP is UTV, and ip-to-location software thinks I'm in belfast because of it.

Anybody know any public proxy servers that are UK based?

Google "free proxy servers" and you'll get a bunch of sites that list various proxy servers around the world.

but they are terribly slow Beano, if you want a fast one you'll have to pay for it.

I think UTV and sometimes NTL broadband will register as you as being "British". If you have access to a Sky Digibox or a FTA reciever. You can recieve it through them and listen to it then that way.

This is how to "tune" in BBC Radio 5 live on a Sky Digibox anyway,

    Do the following.
With your digibox turned on, press the "Services" button (near the top of the remote).

Select number 4 (System Setup), and then 4 again ("Add Channels").
In the appropriate fields enter the following (you move through the fields using the up and down arrow keys).

In the Frequency field enter: 10803,
The next three fields are toggle fields, i.e. using the left and right arrows will change the value.

    Toggle Polarisation to : H
    Toggle Symbol Rate to: 22000
    Toggle FEC to : 5/6

Then select the last button - Find Channels.
After a few seconds the channels should appear. BBC Radio 5 Live being the first IIRC.

Use the Yellow button to place a tick beside it & other if you wish and press "Select". These channels will now be stored.

You can view them by pressing the "Services" button, then 6 ("Other Channels"), use the arrow keys to move to the channel you want and press "Select".

If you wish to view the BBC & ITV Channels see my attachment below.
