    Preliminary tests have confirmed the H5 avian flu virus in a sample from a swan found dead in north east Fife, health officials have revealed.

    Just looking at it on Newsnight now.

    They know what type of virus it is, but they don't know what type of swan it is yet... what's the deal with that?

    walking down the beach in tramore yesterday i passed two dead birds, dunno what type they were, the both were black with white chests, maybe magpies, we probably already have it here but lazy people arent reporting it like.

    Oh no i'm so scared... only females can get it since it's called "Bird" flu. If men cud get it it wud be called "birds and felleh" flu

    That news kind of started to worry me ever so slightly but then I realised I live in Germany and there's been bird flu here for months.

    If it remains the way it is, only birds will die. If it magically mutates so that it can be spread among humans, there'll be a "pandemic" apparently.
