Was once a decent improving (14) golfer, then my game just went to absolute pot, slowly deteriorated over a couple of years to a stage where last summer I was lucky to score 30 points off a handicap of 18, thanks mainly to my putting and short game.

Driving...gone to hell, irons.... terrible..... I used to be such a sweet iron player....an absolute breakdown altogether, you would seriously wonder if I had ever played golf before.... like a nervous breakdown of golf:(
Tried lessons to help me out, changed my swing mechanics (I was closing clubhead, and swinging inside).... helped for a while but then got even worse.... got to a stage where I felt like crying (seriously) had bad things had got, and completely took away any enjoyment from game. This was bad for me, as I organised trips of 16 or 18 to Portugal etc... but just couldn't face it anymore playing so badly.

Anyways... this weekend, back in the saddle....haven't picked up the clubs in 6 months now, hoping I can play like I could once upon at time, just want to play half decent and this weekend agreed to go away with the lads on a golf weekend..... :o

I was the same myself, i used to play quite well then it all just went to pieces. I even went as far as selling my clubs.

I bought a new set last october and haven't looked back since, delighted to be back playing.

I know its off topic but has anyone played the curragh?
