    Hi,
Does a sky+ box have the RF output, for another room ?

My current sky box has it and I feed the bedroom TV from that & it takes back the remote signal from there. Does the sky+ box have the same output ?

    Am considering going with sky+

I've googled but cant find it.

    Thanks.

You can keep the current box FTA with UK EPG and all ITV/BBC channels on EPG with no subscription. The Sky+ upgrade LNB has 4 outputs and Sky+ uses 2.

    Interesting ...

So does this mean I can run a 3rd coax from one of the "spare" LNB's to the other sky box in a another room & not need a card ?

I guess I could then get another card from Sky for the additional room if/when I wanted one ? (€15 extra / month ?)

If there are 4 LNB's does this mean I could (in theory) run two sky+ boxes, or is the sky+ card different to the normal sky dig card ?

sky + card is different but same costs apply IE it mirrors what you have on your 1st box

Apologies for hijacking a thread but I did not want to start a new one with so many Sky+ ones on the go.

If you upgrade to Sky+ will the new contract require you to have the phone line connected 24/7?

A mirror sub DEFINATELY requires phone. All Sky+ contracts "require phone" but there is no problem disconnecting it as long as you don't have a mirror sub.

turns out Sky are telling people you need the phone line connected to have Sky+ facilities enabled, even if you pay the extra to not have the phone connected. they are idiots. i asked them how twice they have enabled the recording for me twice without using a phone line and they told me i was lieing and one of them even hung up on me  great way to treat customers

Thanks for the replies :) , Mossy when you say "pay extra" for not having the phone line connected, do you mean going for the basic Sky+ instal without multiroom? Likewise does your recording feature get dropped when the box can not do a call back?

it is without multiroom as that has to be connected at all times, understandably

i have a Sky+ box in Waterford that has never seen a phone socket let alone be connected to one and recording works perfectly. it is the box at my mothers house they want connected

Phone line .. I don't have one beside the box, but I *could* run one from the attic when runing the new cables from the dish.

What is it used for ?

Is it enough to run a temporary line for the installation, or does it actually nedd it for *anything* ?

No, unless you have a mirror sub it is not needed. It is used for online ordering in response to adverts or Pay to Play games or PPV special events or Sky Box Office.

Normal TV watching/recording and even SW updates don't use it.
