Billy Joel tickets go on sale tomorrow morning. I can't wait! I'll on the computer at 8am to buy them.
He'll be playing in Croke Park on 29th of July.
    Anyone else going?

Getting these today as well, looking forward to it. Pighead loves the BJ!
Forget about Uptown Girl and River of Dreams he has many excellent songs and those 2 hits aren't really representative of his overall work. Check out Leningrad, Goodnight Saigon, Scenes from an italian restaurant and Piano Man for some excellent storytelling.
Went to see the musical Moving Out(features Billy Joel songs) in New York last year and it was absolutely fantastic. . Keep that last bit under your hat as I'm pretty sure musicals aren't cool.

Did anybody go to this? Pighead went on Saturday night and had a ball. Got a shock at the start when the piano rose from underneath the stage and a faux american accent proclaimed "And now the moment you've all been wairting for its.......ME" Cue Peter Kay waddling to the front of the stage with his big cheesy smiling face. He managed to get the crowd in good spirits for the arrival of the main man, although a lot of the older crowd seemed bemused and didn't know who the hell he was.

Anyway Billy came on and the crowd were kinda quiet. The tmosphere was kinda dead which wasn't helped by loads and loads of people arriving late. In fact Billy looked at his watch at least twice obviously not impressed with the tardy spanners. The turning point for me was when he sang "Shes Always A Women". Just Billy and his piano and a voice that sounds as good now as it has ever done. The crowd noticeably lifted from this point onwards and he had us eaten out of his hands. He played "Just the Way You Are"and as it finished he said "And that was written for my 1st Ex Wife!"

Nearly all the hits were played(Goodnight Saigon a notable exception, boo hoo) and the 2nd weird moment occured when he brought out a roadie called Chainsaw who belted out a version of Highway To Hell with billy on lead guitar! This led to a 7 or 8 song set with Billy playing the rockier numbers and leaving his piano to venture out to the front of the stage. I hate to admit it but he even had me rocking to uptown girl. I hope and pray the concert wasn't being filmed for a DVD.

The 10 o Clock strict curfew time came and went and Billy played his little heart out and ended up with a flawless Piano Man sitting back and smiling as the crowd belted the chorus back to him. One last bow and a wave goodbye and one of the best gigs i've been to in a while was at an end. Thanks Billy!
