Anyone see it on BBC news tonight?

He's also down to 22 stone.

    Fair fox to him.

I'd say he was a bit slow to start, but as the poun.. i mean stone's drop off he's probably speeding up!!

He might even be able to jog back to the west coast :p

Though, I'd have to wonder how many food stops he's had to make...

A walking machine would have saved him the effort tbh.

Well, he should be careful. It might not be safe to start on such an extreme programme of exercise if he's been really sedentary up to now. Tortoise steps!

I'd be pissed if I only went from 28 to 22 stone from walking across America, he's gona have to walk back now too.

He could just swim back to Ireland, go into a pub in Kilkee in Clare, tap his brother on the shoulder, say "sorry" without any trace of emotion, hug his brother, drink a pint of Guinness and casually eye up his brother's girlfriend.

All to the tune of Mic Christopher's Heyday, don't you know...

Sponsored by Nike probably. "Now, don't tell me I'm not an athlete." or whatever their ad. campaign is.

Jesus, his feet must be on fire. I remember walking 30 miles, and when I stopped, I could feel the heat waves from my feet.

Hes not exactly been rushing about this walk though from what I've read. He seems to do a few miles and then go back home for a few days or head off to appeaar on Oprah or something before starting again so hes been going for months now I think.

He wasn't exactly eating a healthy breakfast when he was with that BBC reporter either, big greasy fry up before heading off to waddle along a few more meters.

Despite a book deal and appearing on various talk shows people in the states still havn't heard of him though. On the BBC report as he was walking through a large infestation of McDonanlds and other fast food joints the reporter called over a couple of passers by and said 'This guy is walking across America' they then said something along the lines of how great that was. The next question was 'So you've heard about him then?'

    Nope

The last few weeks I have been watching winter transition into spring right in front of my eyes. It is amazing to start out in the morning and notice that by the afternoon grass appears to be greener, trees seems to have buds and wacky people are once again out looking for something to do.

He's got some cheek saying that, is he pulling a sickky from work to do it?

Well fair play to him for getting off his ass and taking responsibility, instead of buying into the victim culture and suing McDonalds while stuffing his face with greaseburgers.

I live in the States and had heard nothing about this dude. Although in fairness there seems to be a few dozen people walking / segwaying / riding a toilet-tricycle across America for some kind of cause at any point in time.

One of his points was how little healthy food there is to choose from in America when you go out to eat.

He also said he was doing it to draw attention to America's growing (sorry couldn't resist! :D ) obesity problem.
