Am looking at a piece of kit in Elara at the moment. Has anyone had dealings with them recently - good or bad?

What are they like to deal with? I have not dealt with them for over a year.

I had thought that they went bust a few months ago, but the website is still up

they're generally very good with quick delivery. They aren't usually quite as cheap as the likes of Komplett, or get the very latest gear in as quick as oc uk, but they're fairly good and have cheap delivery.

I bought a PDA GPS off them less than a month ago, it was ready in 2 days and I collected it in their Park west office.
They are still operating. They have some nice staff there aswell ;)

they are expensive for postage if you only buy a small item, but on the other hand they do take laser!

We bought a switch from Elara 2 months ago, and everything was fine. The delivery was quick and it wasn't too expensive.

Komplett.ie got very messy during last few months, I ordered some components from them in September and waited for weeks for delivery (and it was available on the website when I was ordering). The mobo wasn't working so we had to replace it and they were really unpleasant about it. They didn't have the same mobo in stock, so they wanted to replace it with cheaper one from different manufacturer, and when I asked will they refund the price difference they told me that the new mobo will have the same performance as the one that we bought and that prices of these things are falling constantly so they can't give us 30 euro refund :). Then I asked them to give me my money back, and it took them 2 weeks to make the refund to my credit card.

Also, all the guys in customer support are French or something and their English is terrible, so you have to explain what you want 5 times for them to understand.

We found the same mobo on microaid.ie, I was really happy with the deal and they had next day delivery option. Their website isn't very good so I prefer to call them :).

    Thanks for that.

I was talking to a guy in Microaid today. They seem friendly, know their stuff and keen for the sale. And more importantly, the cheapest so far for the kit I want.
