So, is any of you installers going to the training thing being held at Jurys D4 on Thursday?

Might meet a few of you if you're going to it.

Ah, didn't realise it was on every day!

Ah well, unfortunately, I can't get out of it. I would prefer not to bother travelling from Donegal in the early hours, but the higher echelons say I must attend.

Huh?? Is it not the business not having it presented by a direct Sky representative & being able to ask all your questions which you were pondering???.
I was only at this meeting on Wednesday, and god could that man drag ourt the day over one box???

Your very kind Watty but i could always learn new things, its just that I dont see a days training in the powerpoint presentation, as Big Paddy says they drag it out and i cant afford to lose a days pay.

Will HD BOX be available in Ireland at same time as UK
Will it cost 450 up front and 15 thereafer
Will I be able to see the World Cup in HD at home?

World cup will be FTA on BBC HD. A FTA HD box (450 Quid) will do it. Also Wombleton.

I was really agreeing that based on PP presentation, experienced installers / technical people will not learn much if anything, if they have seen the PP.

Well, after travellign all the way down from Donegal, we finally found our destination at 11am (yes, five cursed hours travelling), and the guy told us to go home again as we missed too much! To say I was not amused would be putting it lightly.

There was a variety of different brands of HD LCD's (I think he was demonstrating the different native resolutions of varying screens looking at his Powerpoint presentation on the screen), and 3 SkyHD boxes. The SkyHD box (which I got a quick glimpse of, is very similar to a Sky+ box, except a bit bigger, and it still uses 2 IF inputs.

So, that journey was wasted, and I'm now told I might have to go back, except this time travel to Cork! :( Can't see what the big deal is about tbh.
