Streaming video problem

I want to watch a baseball game over the net. The problem is this: On my work laptop when I click the link, I get this address verification message (its blacked out in places) where I have to enter my credit card details (wont work for Irish cards), and I cant get through.
If however, I hook up my home laptop, it plays straight away...even though its the same modem etc (though it is routed through work).....
The reason I wanna use the work one is coz I can send the pricture to my TV. Anyone one how I could resolve this....something to with cookies maybe?

This isnt addressing the issue at hand but is there some reason you cannot use the home laptop does it have no S-video out ?

(If I were to take a wild guess I would say the reason it doesn't work is probably something to do with the fact the work laptop is routed through your companies servers or tied to them somehow).

Then again maybe not, try deleting the cookies, try another web browser like Firefox or Opera and see it it works on the work laptop.

Yeah, no s-video on my own laptop. No joy with firefox I'm afraid....I say you're right about the routing through work thing.

You could always use thing as a justification to a get a new TV with a DVI/VGA interface :D

(assuming your home laptop has one)

How do you access your home broadband connection on your work laptop, do you just plug it in to the wired modem ADSL connection or wireless ?

What I was thinking (without knowing anything about your setup so this may be invalid) was whatever your company has set in the network connection that you use, could be possibly bypassed without having to change anything that might break the work related connection. You could get a second network card and use that to connect to the DSL modem and hopefully side step anything that is work related with the built-in connection and allow you to watch the game on TV.

Not an expensive experiment either just the cost of a USB or PCMCIA network card.

To be honest, IT has passed me by lately!....I just connect it up and then open up some VPN client that allows me to connect to work and onward to the net.....I'm sure there's probabl a way to skip work altogether and just connect the computer to my NTL BB. I'll be able to watch it on my crappy 17" monitor, but wanted to sit back on the couch with the 32" TV!. Thanks for your input
