Does anyone know if there's anywhere to play poker in Wexford town, working down there tomorrow and wouldn't mind a game to pass the time. If yes, can you give the website address and let me know whats on tomorrow evening.

don't know if its any help, but I know there's a card club in Arklow! Might be too far away though and not 100% sure if it's open on Wednesday. But if you're passing through might be worth a try?

there is a club in Newbay house. Around 2 miles from wexford town. Would probably need to ring 053 42779 to check if open on wednesdays

There is a new club open in Newbay, its a casino but has a card room too. There is none in Wexford town itself (although if there is I have been wasting many nights playing online when I could just stroll into town!). If you are into it, try and get to the Mayfair in Arklow (bottom of the town, near the bridge). Also, there are a couple of games on in Gorey and Enniscorthy (this are pub games, so wouldn't go near them myself (again!))

A taxi to the Newbay from town would cost nothing, there and back. We could try and organise a nice easy homegame for you, extend our Wexford hospitality!

thanks for the offer, but I think I'll just have an early night, I was interesting in visiting any poker rooms in Wexford, as I thought there was one just open, sure there will be soon.

Newbay is open. Tournaments every night, limited to 2 tables though. I'll dig up more, but I think it's in the range of 100/250 rebuys, and either 500 or a 1k freezout depending on the night!! All entry back to the players. Taxis aren't too much of a problem in Wexford- and you could STAY in Newbay!!

I got a quote from them for our wedding party... if they even remotely charge the same for rooms as for functions that is not a good idea. :p

But uhm... their smallest tourney is a 100 euro rebuy?!?

That casino at Newbay in Wexford is actually quite decent and could prove to be quite lucrative for anybody with a reasonable amount of patience. I've been there three of the last four Fridays and have made about €500 in the 1/2 no limit game each night. The standard isn't woeful but anyone with a decent amount of card sense could do well there.

At this stage it's worth mentionong that there's a free bar and most players take advantage of the free booze.

There's also a 2/5 game which switches between pot and no limit status depending on the wishes of the players. If i had the bankroll for it I'd definitely get involved. It's a €500 min buy in, but the players are business types who are fairly wild with their cash and if anyone has the bankroll for it I'd well advise having a look.

There's a €25, €50 and €100 rebuy on monday, tuesday and thursday and a €200 freezeout on wednesday and a €500 freezeout on Friday. I gather they're all fairly small fields from reports.
