Its only 12:35 in the pm as I write this and its already a day I will remember forever. Firstly we finally kicked out some b*tch who's been living with us in the house for wwaaayyy too long :D , then a little package came for me in the post containing a Dimarzio Air Norton which was sweet, and then a larger parcel arrived for me containing...

My new J-craft Prestige Ibanez with piezo's. If I were to spec my ideal guitar this would pretty much be it bar the V8 and V7 pickups, but ive got my air-norton for the neck and my Steve's Special for the bridge is en route which fixes that, and ive got a rosewood truss-rod cover with my name engraved also on the way :D

Im shocked at how good a floyd rose can be though!! I was always kinda against them but the piezo's in this tipped the scales a little enough for me to put up with it, but with this bridge I can unlock the top, drop the E and still retain perfect tuning for the rest of the strings, alternate tunings are also a doddle on this! (Sorry this is a revelation for me, the highest quality floyd I had before this was a lo-trs II). :D:D:D:D:D

Edit: I f*cking love this paint job! Its galaxy black, kinda looks pure back until some light shines on it then it sparkles! wow!

    Thats nice, congrats

Once you get to prestige spec Ibanez's, the build quality and playability doesnt get too much better than that, they really are brilliantly made guitars. I bet the fretwork is lovely too?

If you need any help getting the trem set up perfectly, give me a shout.

So, if she has Piezo's, does she have the 13 Pin Roland Output? You could get some sweet synth action going if she does.

Don't understand people's hangups with Floyds, I was in Manhattan last month looking at 7 strings, and I wouldn't buy because I couldn't find one with a floyd. Makes it less effort to bend strings, and I've no sustain/tone issues on my Jem with it. Couldn't go back to fixed bridge if you paid me!

    Owen.

Man its unreal, esp the neck! The fretwork is nothing short of superb. Cheers for the offer with the trem but the guitar arrived with a nearly perfect setup, only took me 5 mins to have her perfect!

Nah, you can get either a piezo bridge or a roland compatable GK bridge. The piezo has two standard outputs so you can send the magnetic pickups and the piezo's to 2 seperate amplifiers, or you can just switch between the magnetic and piezo pickups from the one output, or blend the two together :)

I always liked the feel of playing on floyds but on lower quality floyds, which is what ive always had till now, I found changing tuning required a lot of bridge re-balancing. This bridge is a f*cking dream, im ssooo tempted to thrown an RG1527 prestige onto my credit card now just to have a 7 string with a similar bridge.

I have always wanted a custom trussrod cover on a guitar and once I played this....well it has all the markings so far to be 'the one' so I put the order through straight away :)

Cheers dude, yeah the pickups should be petrucci-riffic! 100 quid for the pair off ebay so I couldnt say no :D
