Sorry for any upset caused. I came across this scene near the Hill of Tara on the N3. I suppose the lambs had just been born.

They're both new, one alive, one dead? Just making sure I have it clear.

Was the day overcast? The colours look kind of washed out. Composition is nice and simple, they could be centred a little more.

I try not to centre subjects because of the golden rule. I think one of the lambs was stillborn but being a jackeen I can't be sure.

This is a less cold version.

Worryingly, im not familiar with such a golden rule...

It wasn't so much the colour temperature as it was the saturation. The bluish cast is ok, I'll try an edit and show you what I mean in a while.

I should have said the Golden Mean or Ratio. Here is a link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_ratio.

Please feel free to edit my photo.

Correct my if I'm wrong? Did you ever say to my that you've been taking photos for 30 years? I could be wrong, but it'd be interesting to be reminded?

If you are referring to me Shrimp I probably said that I started in the early 70s or late 60s. I have had a bit of a hiatus between then and now though.

Both the "Golden Mean" and "Rule of Thirds" are no rules as such, they're more like guidelines how to make an interesting composition, however... in some cases it's better to centre a subject in the picture. Like all "rules", there's always an exception that proves the opposite. I must honestly say I didn't hear about the Golden Mean and Rule of Thirds untill a few months ago, but it's something I already did in my pictures as I always try to make a good composed shot.
