Is it possible to cancel a booking made with Ryanair, and what is the fee.
If not anyone want to go to Nice in the summer?

    Ryanair or Aer Lingus?

You can cancel with Aer Lingus anyway and possibly get a percentage back. But you'll definitely be able to claim back the taxes.

I'm in the same boat, the missus is pregnant so we cant travel to Blackpool in July with Ryanair (we booked back in January) so was wondering how much of the €200 I spent on the tickets I can get back??

You should get the balance of the flights back, minus taxes/charges + administration fee.

I would suggest the 0818 number, or contact them via fax using the details here:

Likely you will get nothing back.
Unless a family member dies in which case you need to provide proof.
So unless you have holiday insurance (yearly one usually) you will not get anything back.

branners69 I misread your posting - my fault. Indeed, in your case (where you've booked and are now no longer travelling) you'll only get taxes back - as Saruman's link points out.

A change of flights to another time might be a better option, or finding someone else to fly them (getting them to pay the change fee)?

From my most recent booking with Aer Lingus:

    Restrictions/Endorsements
    CHANGE FEE APPLIES.
    NON REFUNDABLE.

Refund administration fee of EUR 15.00 or equivalent per ticket will apply to this booking for tax refunds.

Please note: you can now change your web booking online for flight, date and arrival city. For all other changes contact the aerlingus.com helpdesk.

Requests to change your itinerary may result in a change fee.

So €15 to get your taxes back, which is probably about €40 in taxes per person for a return flight.

They don't state what the fee is for changing the dates though.

I had two tickets booked DUB-LAX Mar 17 and had to cancel. Booked them online and was told that the only refund I would be entitled to was the taxes. Upsetting seeing as though I forked out €630 on the tickets.

You can change the tickets you want cancelled up until the date you are to travel. We changed ours to Dubai for Sept. and had to pay the difference in cost plus a charge of €30 per ticket each way = €120 euro. Think in total we ended up paying €329 in total for the admin fees and the differences.
