I know a lad who went to train at Vos Gym for a weekend, sprained his ankle in his first warmup and spent the weekend in the cafés... :)

AFAIK, they're all Thai gyms who so happen to have success in K1. Vos is Thai(Hoost), Chakurikai (sp!! Aerts) is Thai, they're all Thai gyms primarily.

Where do you train right now? They might be able to hook you up.

We'll to be honest I've only been in one place that was more expensive to stay than Ireland and that was Iceland years ago, today Im sure Ireland is more expensive.

Getting a job is really easy if you manage to get throuhg all the beaurocracy, and there is a huge amount of it. Staying in a hostel is cheap enough, the thing is, the realy cheap places are full of scum, so you need to stay in a nicer place which is a bit cleaner. We camped for a few weeks. Food is cheaper to buy in super markets and less than half the price to eat out.

Training in Mejiro is only open at specific (and not to great) times. So the option to train full time there isn't really there. THat said we were totally newbees at the time, if I was doing it again I'd go to all the different gyms, especially Dekkers!!!

    Peace

If you were going to take a month for training,
your best bet would be to come and train in thailand.

if you go to a place, that is far off the tourist trail, you
    can live for pennies.

and you certainly can train full time.

Hey Millionaire....im hitting Thailand myself in a couple of weeks, if you dont mind me asking, how much are you paying for your accommadation?

Great! where are you going to in thailand? For how long?

You going to a camp etc?

I live in North East Thailand.... Isan the NE is called, 1 hour north of Korat, and 1 hour south of Burriram...

I live in a tiny village called Nong Ki. so it is dirty cheap! I had noodles soup and chicken for 2 about 15 mins ago and it cost 70bhat.. about 1.50 euro and thats dinner.

I have a 2 bed town house, and my rent is approx €60 a month or 2500 bhat.
LOL!!! (its so nice to be out of the rat race in dublin) and I got a nice place. if you slum it you can go much cheaper.

Tell me where your going, and if I get any info that may help you, I will PM you.

Bangkok can be expensive (but cheaper than ireland), depending on what you do.
    Enjoy your trip

    Gerry

Thanks for the info Gerry...Actually i mean to say ill be hitting Thailand in 2 months not weeks....im travelling around India and China at the momentbut ill be in Thailand for 3 months. I'd be lying if i said i was going there just to train, my main priorities are chasing skirt and going to full moon parties!! But im definately gonna spend a good bit of time training so any info you could PM me would be stellar. Ill be travelling all around the country (especially around the coast) starting in Bangkok...did you see any fight events in Bangkok?

been to Lumpinee stadium a few times. was supposed to go with one of the fighters from camp last week, who was fighting but could not make it.

I see local MT bouts here almost weekly, in the villages around the place. some great fights too.

Koi Samui for the Full Moon thing. I am in Samui over easter. Pattaya for all the skirt you can handle and more!!! but its very tourist.

let see what I can PM you after I do Smui in easter.

night life in bangkok is best in the world...and no I do not mean the end of it people think about.
there are so brilliant night spots all Thai, hardly a foreigner in sight, and wimmim galore!!! Giddie Up!!!

Samui is great and defo check out the full moon thing! Can't vouch for the skirt cos I was there with the missus though! What I can tell you is that it has a nice wee stadium with some good fights, some ok. Best to check out the local fights as sometimes they cater for the tourists with "international" bouts with guys who've been training a couple of months and Thai's who fall a little too easily in rd. 3 for my liking!!!
