I was wondering if anyone have had experiences with Orthodontics in the North of Ireland, in getting braces. A good service & experience along with good value for Money also. Newry would be of preference.

    Any recomendations & contact details.....

Can give you details of Newry ortho if you like. Wife used him and saved about 50% as compared with the average dublin price quoted. Send me a PM if you want details as its probably inappropriate to post his details publically?

Hi Lisa, I just read some of these comments on northern ireland orthodontists. I had begun consultations in the south (from Monaghan) and am not pleased with the clinic at all adn since i am so near the north i would like to know if you did have any appointments with this dentist and if you were happy with them and more importantly..did you make much of a saving??

Typically you pay in Euro and get it for about half of the equivalent down south. With the way the FX rate is at the moment, I would ask to pay in Sterling and then (if you can afford it), buy that sterling now at the current rate even though you will only have to pay in installments over the course of your treatment. Should give you an even better saving!

    Hi Lisa
I have attended this practice. It is run by Sean McDonagh and Catherine Roche , a husband and wife team both of whom are very professional . I saved at least 2500 euro by travelling up to Newry. I would defintely recommend the practice.

hi just reading replies here, my friends daughter needs to get braces. She rang the place in Newry that is recommended. unfortunately they don't have an appointment for 3 months which is way too long to wait, especially with school.

any one got any other idea's?
    cheers

She has waited this long....wait the 3 months and get someone that is strongly recomended by many on here for a fraction of the Dublin prices.

unfortunately due to school, exams etc waiting 3 months would be cause more hastle over the term of the treatment.

How often do you need to visit the orthodontist during the course of your treatment? I was going to go with an orthodontist in the midlands, but unfortunately he only does a clinic Mon-Wed (the days I work) and I would be required to visit every 1-2 weeks, and there's no way I'd get all that time off work! I'd like to attend Newry, but I'm wondering if I would have to attend weekly/fortnightly.
