Ok, I feel the need to service the car shortly, probably doesn't need it mileage wise but it will do no harm. I'm wondering if plugs/oil filters etc can be got at the local motor factors, I know I can just remove them and bring them down on chance that they may have similar but just want to check. Am I right in thinking that a 72' Mustang will use fairly common Ford stuff. Oh, and what oil, in the little book I got with the car is said to use 20/50, but that was I think referring to dry/hot states like Florida.

Yep the mustang has 2 main plug types a fat one and a skinny one yours is the skinny one also the oil filter is the same one for an old Land Rover 20w/50 is best for classics its also the cheapest unless you buy it Halfords(21euro) real auto factors about(7euro)

Fram oil filter PH8A some other makes are 30001
NGK plugs BP6FS *(the S is important)* yet again a non gimp my ride auto factors should have these in.

Your service parts should of been changed in the UK so codes should do here
