Boylesports Poker won't work

    For some reason boylepoker stopped working for me today, when the program loads up it just keeps staying on the "checking version" screen and will not leave this. Has this happened anyone before? I rang them up and reinstalled it and it still doesn't work.
    I have liked playing on boylepoker, mainly because I have been doing pretty well on it and the standard at some of the tables has been pretty poor.
    If I can't get it working what poker sites would be good to join? I have tried PPP and it is blocked by the firewall in DCU. Is there any special offers out there on any websites at the minute?

    Seems to be working fine for me, although the conection has not been great of late. Are you trying to connect from home?

    I am trying to connect from college, I don't think it is the connection anyway, I think it is more like my PC is not agreeing with the software for some strange reason. I know 2 other lads in DCU who have it working at the minute so I don't think it is that.

    I havent been able to get onto partypoker in the last 2 or 3 days...
    It brings me to a site that says the connection is very good
    but when I check the connection is says lost......

    There is a small possibility the problem could be caused by one of the internet providers that you all use to route experiencing difficulties. If any of you have ever done a trace route you will see that your IP travels along from A - Z via a number of providers. We have found that at times there is a commonality between one of these that say all customers in Ireland might use. Should that provider go down then the link breaks.
    In addition a number of sites have their servers in the same locations. Should one of the UPSTREAM providers experience difficulty then you would get as far as the site (on your IP) but it would not connect.

    I think the latter could be the problem here but I am sure your sites will let you know.

    I figured out what was wrong with mine, I was using a different server in college the other day and had to change my proxy address, when I came back home again I changed the mozilla proxy settings but forgot to change the IE one back as I never really use it, Mozilla is always my first choice.
    So this dawned on my earlier and I changed it back, so obvioulsy the boylepoker software uses the proxy address that you have given in IE and not Mozilla.
    That explains my problem but I have no idea what is wrong with the rest of the lads.

    yeah goes like that for me sometimes. when your trying to load it dont have anything like imesh or limewire running. sometimes when you put money in your account and you try go on line to play it just wont load or else does load but cant transfer money for account to poker account:mad:
