Use of internet terms

This is a serious question does the use of terms like 'sockpuppet' and 'meatspace' create the impression that one is conversant with the Internet or that one is a 'noob' and out of date.

I find the term 'meatspace' hilarious.

    'I got flamed'
    'On the Internet'
'No in meatspace, I'm in the burns unit'
