Hi, I have a 1G Ipod (10GB) I bought a couple of years ago. I want to get the songs off it, onto my laptop. It (the Ipod) uses a firewire cable. Unfortunately I've lost this cable. Could anyone point me in the direction of a cable to either connect it to my 1394 or USB port? I don't know what I'm looking for basically...
Also, I'm interested in buying another one. Would it be a good idea to buy one of those Ipod Minis on Ebay? I just love the pink colour. The Nanos are a bit small and fiddley IMO. I don't have more than 5GB of songs.
    Thanks!

It's just a standard 6 pin Firewire Cable.

You can get them for about €7 here:

    http://komplett.ie/k/kl.asp?bn=10167

Most shops in the street will rip you off though and look for about €30 or something for one.

You could try http://www.marxcomputers.ie/ for the cable as well. They're based in Fairview so it's easy enough to just drop into them. Komplett will charge about €10 or so for delivery.

Thanks for your help. I ordered one that day from ebay and it came today. About 6e inc postage. All my songs are still there so well pleased. Should be able to get it back up and running.
