    just wondering why are they cheaper than other fenders?
    cheaper/mass production? Are they any good?
    saw a fender jag for e700 on thomann should I bother?

    Probably due to cheaper labour and lower taxes, but irrespective of their prices they are fantastic instruments and are easily up there with the U.S Fenders. I'd say go for it! :D

    Yeah they're supposed to be just as good/better than Yank Fenders. Buy away but dont forget to post pics when you get it..

    I think when you buy a USA made Fender you are paying a bit extra for the name. Japan Fenders have a very good quality rep but would be looked down on a bit in teh US just cos they're not made in AMerica. Some Japanese Fenders are reputed to use cheaper pots/switches/wiring than the US made ones although many use US pickups.
    FWIW I have one and I'm very happy with it (esp for the price) but I dont have a US one to compare it to.
