Is my mobo dying?

My computer has never been the most reliable with some PCI cards but I think my mobo is on it's last legs.

I'm using an early 2002 Dell Dimension, with a TV Tuner card a network card both things I added in the last year.

Just now, both died simultaneously for a few seconds, TV reception went blank and the net connection failed.

Is this is a sign of motherboard trouble?

That sounds like a power surge or drop out , get a surge protector socket strip and see how the system holds up after that , you may just have mains dropouts , computers do not like that sort of thing.
Most other appliances arent bothered with em.

    have a surge surpressor already.

    Probably a power-drop-off.

If it was a power blip, or you live in an area with dodgey power, A UPS (uninteruptable power supply) is what you need, They are around €100 and will keep your PC going for a few minutes even in a power cut;)
