Commuting from Kinnegad

    Hi,

I'm thinking of moving to Kinnegad. Does anyone here commute from there to Dublin city centre? If so, do you commute by car, bus or train. How do you find the commute - time and money?

    Thanks

There is no rail service from Kinnegad but there is a regular bus service for commuters. The Mullingar service runs frequently in the mornings and the evenings, plus you would have Galway and Sligo buses going through Kinnegad. Driving would take much longer as you will get held up between the Newcastle Junction and the M50. Average driving time between these two points is 30 mins in the morning.

The closest Train station is Enfield, about 15/20 minutes drive away.

    Hi Cullenswood,

Do you know how much the bus is and how long the journey takes?

    Thanks

According to www.buseireann.ie, the journey time varies between 57 and 82 minutes.

    The train takes an hour.

My brother lives there, i could ask me some more specific question if you want.

I get the bus that passes through Enfield at 7.20 every morning and I am on O'Connell bridge by about 8.10 - 8.15. It is rarely any later than that. There is another bus that goes through Enfield at 7.40 which gets into town for about 8.45. Both of these are the 115 service from Mullingar.

THere are also a number of private bus operators that pass through Kinnegad.

Thanks for the replies. Bus seems to be the best way to travel.

Slieve bloom coaches are good and very frequent, usually on time to within 2 minutes

    http://www.slievebloomcoaches.ie/timetables.html

a 10 trip ticket (5 returns as it were) costs 46 EURO from Clonard so I'd guess about 48 from Kinnegad.

    times leaving kinnegad are
    6:25
    7:00
    7:15
    7:25
    7:50

    from my own experience

    7:15 gets to O'Connell St. for 8:30
    7:25 gets to O'Connell St. for 8:45
    7:50 gets to O'Connell St. for 9:05

returns are from the Ha'penny Bridge but you can board at georges quay (opposite side of the river from the customs house) if you get there 10 min before deptarture time from Ha'penny bridge i.e. if it leaves the bridge for 5:45 then be at georges quay for 5:35
