Ok i was looking where to buy my girlfriends present by doing a google search. But now every time you use google and type "s" silver watches show up. I think she's going to figure it out next time she uses the comp, which is nearly every evening. I tried deleting the temp internet files and cookies but this didnt work. it still appears, any ideas??

Is it firefox or IE you are using?
If Firefox then click go from menu and history from the bottom of the list. Opens up a menu on the left side with your browsing history for the last while. Just delete the folders.

Go to tools on the top of the page , then " internet options " which is at the bottom of the drop down menu , click on this and box pops up , in the bottom panel click on clear history , and change the amount of days to keep history to 0 for good measure !!
    That should do it .

you may as well click "delete files" and "delete cookies" while your at it too:) unless it's something to do with the autocomplete feature, which I never use so I'm not sure if cookies has anything to do with that?

This is part of the auto complete function. In IE, go to Tools -> Internet Options and click the Content tab, then select the Auto Complete button. There's options to erase it's history there plus you can turn it off alltogether.

Also, if it is one of the options that is displayed in the dropdown that appears under the text box, say in google after you type "s" then you put your mouse over (not click) one (eg "silver watch") to highlight it and press delete on the keyboard.

When you visit google, click the logout link on the top right. I reckon this is google saving your search history rather than your web browser's history/autocomplete.

And the winner is Andy!!! I was deleting the temporary files and cookies but not clearing the history. The autocomplet stuff didnt seem to make a diff. Thanks guys..

In Firefox which has the Google search engine in it, I cannot seem to clear the History. So I have all of the things that we have searched for, as there are five people using the machine, the list is endless. Any help would be appreciated.
