And he was never seen again since. I don't think the horse is in training anymore which is a real pity.

Bit of a sad/happy story behind this one.....

On the day of my father's funeral, we all went back to the local for soup and sambos etc. Anyway, for obvious reasons, I was not really taking much notice of the racing.
Someone came up to me and said
"There is a horse going called Blazing Bailey today, you gotta put some money on in memory of your old man" (Bailey being our surname)

Now, I don't normally back a horse by it's name, but my father loved horse racing, and the form was good, so for the craic, I went out to put €100 euro on it, as I had a few bob on me that day. To my surprise, when I went out, almost every bloke from the bar was in the bookies lumping on. He was a very popular bloke. I started to worry thinking this could all go badly wrong here. There was well over a grand on it at this stage. Anyway, I went back into the bar to watch the race, and the whole bar was shouting and cheering as it came home. Everyone in the pub had a pint on my old man that day....

Good one Wbailey, there must have been a right cheer when he turned for home in front!
