Northern v Southern Dentists

Just wondering what anyones experiences of dealing with dentists in the North is like ? I remember hearing horror stories in the past of people going to these NHS trained dentists. I only ask as I have half a front tooth filled and it really needs to be bridged (I think!) and I am wondering to go North or South for it. I am in the lucky (Maybe!) position of being resident in the North and having my PRSI up to date from working in Dundalk. Thoughts anyone?
