    Ok here’s the problem:

Two DS each with their own copy of Animal Crossing
One Linksys router, Model No WAP11.

One DS can connect no problem to WIFI and has being doing so for months. The game was bought online in February, so it is the USA version of the game.

I bought another copy of the game yesterday in a city centre store for the second DS.

Second DS gives an error “unable to connect with Nintendo WFC ID” Error 53000.

It can connect to the router no problem I have check the router log and I can see the DS connecting.

I have reset the WFC ID (twice) on the DS and setup the whole WIFI thing again and still same error.

Has anyone any ideas, this is causing a major headache with the kids.

    Ok full setup is this.

WE have a small lan of 5 machines. Standard Eircom Netopia router providing internet connection. The DS's connect through the Linksys which is connected into the router as is the PC's.

All machines use static IPs as do the DS's

The first DS has been working fine for two months now and still continues to fuction well.

I don't think the problem is with our router or lan setup, however I stand to be corrected. The fact that the second DS is whinging about it's particular WFC ID leads me to think that either the game is faulty or perhaps the DS is.

This evening I also tried MS Mario Kart and it too gives the same error.

Got this fixed this evening, not really sure how, here's what I did.

To test out the suspect DS I transfered the settings from the working DS (DS A) to the suspect DS (DS B) and then tested the WIFI connection, it worked proving the the DS was not at fault.

To test the Game (the Euro copy) I set that up on DS A and the wifi connection worked. So! I thought problem solved. However the Kids put a spanner in as the DS are Pink and Blue, brother & sister were not willing to swap.

So I reversed step one above and transfered back the settings to DS A and set up DS B with the Euro Game and surprise! it worked perfectly this time.

    Thank F*** for that!
