Mikes death

Thought we might as well dedicate a thread to the leaving of Mike Baldwin from Coronation Streeet this Friday night. Apparently he's going to die in Ken's arms, joking and laughing about Deirde. He's been a part of the soap for 30 years.
The first memory I have of him would be the "Free Deirdre" campaign, since I only began to watch the show when I was six or seven.
As an institutional part of my favourite soap I have only two words. RIP Mike.

Sad old way to end your life.... not knowing anyone, mixing up people and things, and remembering things from your far past. My grandmother had Alzihemirs (sp??) for years before she died. It was horrible!!! She was such a clever woman in her day.

It is sad isn't it:( My first memory of Mike in Corrie was when he was married to Susan (who was blonde at the time) and their marriage was breaking up, she then told him she had had an abortion and that was the end. After that I remember him with Alma when she had the old cafe (Jims) and his affair with Jackie Ingrim but Alma forgave him and they got back together. I can't remember what broke them up again actually cause my next memory is of him with Linda. I think Johnny is playing the scenes wonderfuly. It will be a sad end on Friday.

His fixation with Deirdre is just plain sick, shes a weapon !
