Not Sure if i can discuss azeurus but can anyone help.Downloads not turning green and azeurus says nat problem.
I am using the eircom 3347 i think it is,router, connected wirelessly to my dell laptop and the brother set it up using mac address only and upnp.

Is there a setting i am missing to enable connecting to peers?

You need port 6881 open for TCP and UDP www.portforward.com but anyone with that router has issues with the guides on that site as they look nothing like the Eircom branded firmware.

But you need that port open.

Try looking through Azureus's options and making sure UPNP is enabled. That'd do it for you, if uPNP was working fully.

Hey I use Azerus via a wireless netgear router and nat works great for me. You need to make sure you get into the admin area of your router.

This is what I did to get it to work:-

I have two machines on my network running from my cable internet connection.

My router is a DHCP server. I assign permanent IP address to both my machines by mac address. This means that each machine will always have the same ip address every time you log in.

Then, go to the port forward area of your router and choose your machine by the ip address you have assigned, and forward the port to the desired number. I know it used to be 6881, but it has since changed. I am in work right now, but I can give you the port number I use at home, which I have forward. I think, you can use any available unused port to provide a Nat connection.

Also, you will want to make sure any firewall software on your system is allowing Azerus to be fully accessible to the internet.

Hi,Sorry for delay,Have tried everything i can think of but still no joy.

Have mac address setup for the wireless network, dhcp and using port 61053 butstill no good.

UPNP I believe is a definate no,no as they say it allows alot of easy access from hackers?
Port 6881 is not supposed to be used as it is often blacklisted according to azeurus help file.

I have tried to set to static nat and no joy but azeurus says udp and tcp should use same port but it impossible to do as the router says theres a global port conflict?

Does anyone have this router with azeurus working on it correctly? What settings did ye use?

    Regards
    kieran

The whole UPnP hacker/security thing is tosh (often misconstrued with a security whole in WinXP pertaining to UPnP which was fixed a long time ago - 2001), you're router has NAT and you have a firewall your absolutely fine using it.
