Been looking for a new laptop and decided to go with a mac. I've never used one before but I've always wanted to try one.
I won't be carrying it around so weight isn't a huge issue.

I'd be interested to know why mac users in this forum find them better than a Dell for example.

Is the below a good deal? I wouldn't mind flying over to London to collect.(could visit the sister also) and see this laptop before I bought it.

Its £450 cheaper than the Apple Uk store. The Irish Apple store is slighty more expensive than the Uk store and I guessing this is due to 17.5% VAT.

    Any opinions please?

It's OS X that sold me fours years ago. The great hardware is just the icing. To tell you the truth I was very much against getting a Mac back then. My wife really liked the G4 lamp style iMacs and had to have one. I continued to use my windows box until it finally died months later. I didn't care for OS X at first when I had to use it, because it was so different and because I couldn't use a lot of my favorite windows apps. Soon though, OS X grew on me and when I found alternatives to the windows apps, OS X completely won me over. I would never go back to a windows pc now.

If it was me and I was prepared to fly to get a Mac laptop I'd go to the US. You'll get a much better deal there then you would in the UK. And,all Apple Laptops come with world wide warranties. I'm hoping to get a new Macbook this summer when I go over.
