If you arrive at a hotel at which you have already paid for and they tell you they have no rooms and they want to send you to another hotel, what are your rights in such a situation? Can you ask for your money back or are you stuck with what they organise?

    Thanks for your quick response.

It happended to me during the week in Poland. The original hotel on the outskirts of karkow was overbooked and they sent us to a city centre hotel some 20km away. It was a small room which smelled of varnish and feet.

We would have prefered them to email or contact us beforehand and gotten a refund and make our own arrangments.

Happened us in Florida last year. The hotel we booked when we arrived had no space.

The put us up free in another hotel for the first night and when we returned to the hotel on the second day they gave us access to the club level, free breakfasts and a couple of other extras.

When we settled up at the end of the holiday we did not have to pay for the first night which was in another hotel.

Did you book the hotel directly from the hotel's site or did you go through a third party site. In my case I booked directly from the hotel. I think if you book from a third party this is less likely to happen.

    :):)

It has only happened to me once but it worked out very well. We were supposed to be staying at Jurys in Ballsbridge but we were moved to the Berkley Court with breakfast thrown in. I didn't even need to move my car. ;)

    I did indeed book thru a 3rd party. I used www.needahotel.com
