DUBLIN - --The controversial Nigerian Asylum Seeker Kunle Elukanlo was killed early Saturday morning when he lost control of his car, hit a ditch, was thrown from the car and it overturned on him.

Olunkunle “Kunle” Elukanlo, 20, of Palmerstown in Dublin was driving northbound on M50 a mile north of Tallaght bypass at about 10 a.m. this morning when he lost control of his car, overcorrected and hit a ditch bank, Gardai said.

Kunle was thrown from the car when it overturned and died at the scene when the car landed on top of him, said Sgt. D.S. Kelleher.

Kunle was not wearing a seat belt and alcohol played a role in the accident, Kelleher said.

A passenger, who also was not wearing a seat belt, was not thrown from the car and was uninjured, Kelleher said

I guess it serves him right for drink driving but still.. What should've been a joyous occasion with the recent birth of his baby has now coincided with this horrible tragedy.
My condolences go out to his family. Kunle will live on in all our hearts.

I think it'd be appropriate if the mods deleted those other threads out of respect.
