hiding documents

    How do you hide a word document on yr pc so that nobody can see it?

    what about applying a password. How do you do that?

    you could try this to store your documents and it provides two levels of plausible deniability, in case your captured and tortured for the password.

    to make casual browsing a little harder

    change permissions on the files & folders so only you can see them
    password protect the doc
    rename the doc to something else ~Not_My_Important_Document.tmp

    don't forget to delete the tmp files and all the stuff in the temp folder and wiping all free spave on the drive and your page file etc. as bits of word docs are also found in them

    to apply a password use "save as" obvious really, unless you still have the default microsoft settings of "hide stuff that I might find useful"

    oh and if you have bothered to change default setting to "always create backup copy" you may have to check the security settings on the .wbk too.
