    Hey folks,

I have this wierd thing about sharing food with people, mainly dinner-type food ie. I wouldn't mind giving someone a malteaser or somethin, but if someone starts takin chips from my plate or chicken nuggets, then I get annoyed

I'm not sure what it's all about, but I think it might have somethin to do with the way I ration the food as I'm eating it :D If I'm havin a few chip butties, for example, then I'll have the chips all out on the plate/tray, and mentally I'm thinkin "ok, I'll probably get 4 sammiches out of that if I split them properly", so then I've eaten the first 2, and then someone comes along and goes "I'll just have a couple of these", and throws my plan all to sh*t!!!

It's kinda like that episode in Friends, with Joey goin "JOEY DOESN'T SHARE FOOD!"

    I do like food :)

Anyways, anyone else as sensitive and territorial about their dinner plate? :D Probably not, but it's worth a shot to see if anyone is as wierd as moi :p

Yeah.. i'm somewhat the same way!

But then again, i came home from college one day and took a few chips off my 4 year old nephew's plate when he wasn't looking - and maybe it was the fear of being caught but they were damn tasty! :D

I dont mind sharing any kind of sweets or crisps but sometimes it really bothers me when people steal my food as in dinner and the like!!

@ Dave do you 'share' other peoples food?
[do you rob food from others basically... I'm having difficulty speaking english tonight]

I don't take it off their plate when they're eating it... but I have been known to steal some chips, or swapping for bigger pieces of chicken/steak, from my brother's plate! :D

But that's not the same thing... right? :o

    </justification>

If the food's a good awful heap of ****e I'm all about the sharing.
Generally I neither pillage someones plate nor share(except for the aul' skittles) as everyone tends to have some form of animal carcass touching off anything that could otherwise be deemed appetising.
I wouldn't brand you weird. It was just over 150 years ago we were all falling down dead due to the lack of the spudatoes, probably inbuilt in the genes.

I don't mind sharing if someone asks can they have some and I'd always offer anyway, it only pisses me off if someone just takes it off my plate without asking.
Also, what really gets to me is when someone claims they're not hungry when you're making/ordering food and then when it is cooked/arrives they help themselves to yours. That's so, so annoying.

    Yes, yes it is!!!!!!

"I'll just have one or two of yours"
    *fills pockets with your chips*

it seems that when you are enjoying your food the last piece always tastes the nicest thats when somebody always seems to come up and pinch off your plate
    very annoying

you're dead right. that has to be the most annoying thing anyone can do. By right if someone refuses food because they're not hungry and then picks from someone else's plate the whole plate should be slopped over their head. how could anyone be so annoying? If I did that without realising and then someone tapped me on the back and made me realise what a ridiculous thing it is to do, I'd run straight out and top myself. There's no excuse for that kind of behaviour.

Doesn't bother me one bit if the person taking it is a friend.
But if it's somebody I don't like they won't get anywhere near the food! They'll just have my fork stuck in their hand then I'll ask them "Do you mind getting me another fork please?"

I found the ole fork in the hand is a great way of keeping intruders away. Mind you, me Mammy got a bit pissed off the 2nd time:D

Aye, I hate sharing any type of food with anyone, friend or not friend... though generally if you ask, you shall recieve... a small bit, but I just loathe how people just take some without asking... annoying Bastids!

i even get squirmy when someone offers me their food to share...

i don't like to share bits of chocolate bars or anything, it IS partly selfishness ( a bar only goes so far round you know) but its partly hygene...

I wouldn't mind sharing as that implies that I actually offered the food in the first place.

It's the 'I'll just rob a chip' attitude that gets up my nose. People (hell lets cut to the chase here. not people 'women') can't understand why you would be so worried about 1 measly chip but what they fail to understand is that it is not even the loss of a chip that is the cause of annoyance but in fact merely the actual act itself!

For peace sake you can glady have 90% of my food before I begin eating it but once it's on my plate it's MINE and the next finger you put on my grub, you lose :)

I reacon this not wanting to share food is an instinctual thing with humans. Most animals are the same, when they have a meal they will bring it away from the main group or family and consume it themselves.

I tend to always get more food than I want so always offer to people. I don't like people I don't know begging for sweets though. That drives me mad. I like sharing food with friends though as you get the chance to try all different dishes if you're in a restaurant.

I don't mind sharing, BUT, I can't stand when like someone has their hand already in your bag of crisp and then asks "Can I have one?".

Solution: Eat all your meals in the lavatory with the door locked. ;)

    So true

I'll share but ask and when people don't ask it just gets my back up against the wall and i can't relax and enjoy the food!

I don't mind if they ask but I get pissed of if they don't ask

    Manners people :)

Ugh hate it when people do that, I'd never ask someone for food even if I was about to pass out from the hunger, I don't mind sharing some crisps / sweets or whatever but dinner, just back the fúck up bitch, you'll loose a hand :)

Really gets on my tits when people say they're not hungry, you order something and they then decide you'll 'share it'. >_<
