Hi All. On the dell battery module for my laptop, there is a row of 5 green leds and a button. When the button is pushed the leds should show the level of charge in the battery. For some reason my battery has stopped charging and leds 1 3 and 5 flash green when the button is pushed. Just thinking is the battery knackered or can somthing be done with it?

That sounds like an error code of some kind to me. Have a look around support.euro.dell.com and see if it can tell you anything about it.

OP, your battery is knackered. Trust me, I have a Latitude C600, and this happened to me. Tell me do you have the imfamous flashing amber light (instead of the green charge light)? I have had it, and it eventualy stopped and while I still have the battery in the laptop it is essentialy a portable desktop now.

Yeah Flashing light is there. Seen a new battery on EBay for about €60. Dell are charging €114 for them.
    Thanks to all.

You should be careful about buying old Li-Ion batteries. They continously lose charge from the day they're manufactured, so even if the battery's just been lying in a store room for the past 5 years or so it's probably about half-knackered already.
