Hello I want to return an item that I got off Komplett which was delivered on thursday and is not faulty but is not compatible with my motherboard.

It was opened once but not used. But what does cooling off on an item mean ( ive checked around the site and its not clear ) ???

It basically means that you can change your mind and they'll refund you. Return shipping will be at your own cost though.

The fact that you've opened it - this may mean that they won't take it back (software?) or they'll charge a restocking fee (err.. a monitor?).

    Context please?
Usually a 'coo(ling) off' = a period in which you can change your mind and return the item to them (At your expense).

Well to be honest I reckon it is compatible but its a small local shop and he said he isnt happy putting that psu into as he said the psu came with a very bad diagram or where to put some of the cables and he doesnt want to fry my motherboard.

I said to him it is compatible but he said he could get a psu for me that hed be happy with so I said id let him at it as it was the first pc i built i wanted to be 100 % sure it was right.

I know for again I would be able to do it myself as in the end I was the one that diagnosed that it was the psu faulty in the first place and he checked it and said i was right ( after a week ).

But as the story goes he got a different psu and now i have a 580 tagan sitting there ( along with a psu that will be replaced by komplett ) a 430w inwin.

I only planned on having 2 psus with the inwin 430w as a spare...but the tagan is too good to not be used....what should I do now? And what will komplett do.

btw the fella in the shop said something on how the colour of the psu cables didnt match with the motherboard??? ( not sure about this  )...I dunno never put in a psu but I did hook up a pc without any troubles before with the crappy antec one that caused me all this trouble in the first place. But I said id let him do it his way....

That guy is feeding you some bullsh*t. Colours of the cables don't match

Is your sig still correct in that you have an Epox EP-9NPA+ SLI because I have the same motherboard with a Tagan PSU in the machine I'm typing this on right now so if this technician doesn't know how to connect the PSU to the motherboard then I would be concerned.

With the Tagan PSU their are only two power connectors that need be plugged into the motherboard. The main 20 pin connector labelled as ATX 12V/EPS 12V note on Tagan PSU's they have a clip on/off extra power pins at the end of the connector with an "E" on it (It's used for server class motherboards) , remove this connector as it not required.

The second power connector is the a 4 pin one, this again on Tagan supports more than just one type of PSU so you have two connectors that are clipped together, remove the one called "P4+" and do not use it. Only plug in the one called "P4" as that is the correct connector.

Thats all you need to do as you can see in this screenshot the 20 pin and 4 pin power connectors are right next to each other on the 9NPA+ SLI so you cant make a mistake.

LOL, the tech guy is talking a load of rubbish. Also, why should you go to the expense of sending the item back because he hasn't got a clue what he's up to! Take it to some one else, or do it yourself.

He is talking crap. The colours don't matter a damn and every connector only has one place to go on the mb.

Also in response to the original question - cooling off period is a mandatory time period (10 working days I think) in which you can return any item bought by mail-order once its not been used and is still in a resaleable condition. Internet purchases are counted as mail-order for the purposes of this.
