    Hi,

I have some slide film I want to put through a C-41 process, anyone know where I can get this done in Dublin? Process and scan the "neg" to disk. The Dublin Camera Centre won't do it because they say that their chemicals will get screwed up.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Hugh

idiots at lower abbery street [fuji film] f**ked mine up, so i had to scan them in and invert them. I suggest you check out the shop on georges street.

the fuji place on abbey street charge €2 for each print anyway, because they say slide film won't go into their machines automatically (a lie, apparently). mcg on george's street won't do it anymore for me, but you could try anyway. now i get them developed in the fuji place or the lab on fumbally lane, then get them printed in Gunn's. Still works out at over €20 though!

    over 20 for 35mm ?
medium format slide film , around 12 shots that is, only cost me 4 the first time [where they just game me negatives] then when i asked for prints they charged me 4 again and gave me negatives printed out, which was ridiculous, so in total thats 8 euros !?

First they said it wont fit their machines then they accepted them.

this is what they gave me the second time

i really didnt know what to expect , having no experience with slide film what so ever, anyway obviously completley wrong, i did go back and they said thats what cross processed is.

scanned it in and inverted, results where what i was really looking for, its taken with a lubitel 166 B with no exposure meter just off the top of my head

    bit over exposed.

anyway sorry for taking over the thread but avoid fuji on lower abbey street

you can cross process slide film in city pharmacy on dame st. we can print it as negative film, often the results will be crap though. digital is a far better tool in my opinion for this kind of experimentation

Thanks. Can you scan the cross-processed "neg" to CD instead of printing it?

BE VERY AWARE when getting your normal stuff processed in a place that does cross process slide. it does mess up the chemicals and its usually a lab that doesen't know their stuff that will accept anything for cross processing. Repro 35mm on merrion square will develop them separately and provia 100F is the film to use. just a thought! also ever tryed cross processing colour infra red- amazing.

Digitally - generally executed badly though and noisy to boot. I've done a lot of tweaking in Curves without getting the results I'd wanted. I just wanted to try some slide for crossprocessing. Inspired by some amazing stuff on flickr like this.
