Does anybody have any experience in the field of working in a firm for a Summer in order to gain experience? I'm prepared to work in any size firm so as to keep my prospects as broad as possible. I've applied to one large city centre based firm but in case that doesn't come to fruition, I would like some alternatives.

Obviously I'm not expecting to be doing important litigations etc. as a first task but I would like to do something above the menial work experience tasks that are usually doled out to the likes of myself. Has anyone any suggestions on companies/practices that are generally receptive to someone in a similar position to myself?

Thanks for any suggestions.

P.S. I'm not looking to earn a fortune either, just reasonable money for a similar office job.
