    Hello,

I'm planning a holiday to Florida this time next year for 4 adults & 2 children (both under 4 years old).

I would like to rent a Villa for 3 weeks and would love any advice, particularly on the following...

1 - Is Orlando the best place to be based?
2 - Who's the best company to go through (eg JamesVillas)?
3 - When is spring break, so as to be avoided.
4 - Any other advice or suggestions.

    Thanks...Poodle

Spring break is usually early March, so you should just miss it if you go at this time next year. Most kids seem to going further afield than Florida these days though (even met a few heading for Dublin a few weeks back).

The only part of Florida I've been to was Key West, and I did see quite a few families around despite it's "party town" reputation. I have more detailed comments on it in the thread pointed to below.

There have been a few threads on Florida in here, so a search should turn up quite a bit of advice. Most recent one was:

I was swimming there on New Years day and Christmas Day, and I am a complete wuss about cold water, so you should be fine in April.

Orlando is pretty central for a lot of things... the Remington Golf Community, less than 30 minutes from Walt Disney World, SeaWorld, Wet & Wild and Universal Studios, and minutes from Florida’s Turnpike, as well as the international airport there.

www.orlandovillas.com. We used them a couple of years ago and they were great. We stayed in a place called Crescent Lakes which is about 30 mins from International Drive and about 40 mins from Universal. Anyway, the forums over on orlandovillas.com are a terrific source of info. Also check out the launch schedule for Kennedy Space Centre. Definitely worth the 1.5 hour drive (the pleasure of cruise control :) ) especially if there's a launch at the other end. Even if there isn't, definitely worth a trip.
