My mam's car is for sale at the moment. it's a 02 Citroën Xsara. My dad got a phonecall from guy claiming to be from MOTORHELP http://www.motorhelp.co.uk today. He gave a reference number, London phone number, and his name. The website checks out but i'm sceptical about it as i'm sure there was some thread about this before

At the end of the conversation he asked for credit card details to place the car for sale to his clients on the web at €79. He said buyers would be from a 100 mile radius and that because MOTORHELP would be arranging the finance and that my dad would get €70 of this back when the finance came through.

I told him to hang up, give no details and tell the guy the car is sold if he rings back. It's on 2 websites and the online buy and sell. http://www.carsireland.ie
http://www.donedeal.ie where this guy obviously found it.

    Is this a scam
